Alka-Seltzer PlusŪ Cold & Cough Liqui-Gels
DIRECTIONS: ADULTS: Swallow 2 softgels with water. CHILDREN (6-12 years): Swallow 1 softgel with water. CHILDREN (under 6 years): Consult a doctor. Repeat every 4 hours, not to exceed 4 doses per day, or as directed by a doctor.
INDICATIONS: Provides temporary relief of these major symptoms of colds and flu with cough: coughing, runny nose, nasal and sinus congestion, headache, body aches and pains, sneezing, fever, and sore throat.
EACH Softgel CONTAINS THESE ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:
FOR THE TEMPORARY RELIEF OF THESE COLD AND FLU WITH COUGH SYMPTOMS:
Cough Suppressant
 Dextromethorphan
Hydrobromide 10 mg		 Temporarily reduces the impulse to cough and controls the cough reflex that causes coughing.
Antihistamine
 Chlorpheniramine
Maleate 2 mg		 To help relieve the runny nose and sneezing that accompany colds and flu.
Nasal Decongestant
 Pseudoephedrine HCI
30 mg		 Helps restore free breathing;  shrinks swollen membranes  and reduces sinus congestion.
Analgesic
 Acetaminophen
325 mg		 Relieves headache, sore throat,  general body aches and to reduce fever.

INACTIVE INGREDIENTS: D&C Red#33, FD&C Blue#1, Gelatin, Glycerin, Polyethylene Glycol, Potassium Acetate, Povidone, Purified Water, Sorbitol, Titanium Dioxide.

 WARNINGS: Do not exceed recommended dosage. If nervousness, dizziness or sleeplessness occur, discontinue use and consult a doctor. If symptoms do not improve within 7 days or are accompanied by fever, consult a doctor. A persistent cough may be a sign of a serious condition. If cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur or is accompanied by fever, rash or persistent headache, consult a doctor. Do not take this product for persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, emphysema or if cough is accompanied by excessive phlegm (mucus) unless directed by a doctor. If sore throat is severe, persists for more than 2 days, is accompanied by or followed by fever, rash, headache, nausea or vomiting, consult a doctor promptly. May cause excitability especially in children. Do not take this product, unless directed by a doctor, if you have a breathing problem such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis, or glaucoma, difficulty in urination due to enlargement of the prostate gland or heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or thyroid disease. May cause drowsiness; alcohol, sedatives and tranquilizers may increase drowsiness effect.  Avoid alcoholic beverages while taking this product.  Do not take this product if you are taking sedatives or tranquilizers without first consulting your doctor. Use caution when driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery. As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health professional before using this product. Keep this and all medication out of the reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, contact a physician or Poison Control Center immediately. Prompt medical attention is critical for adults as well as children even if you do not notice any signs or symptoms.
Drug Interaction Precaution: Do not use this product if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson’s disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you are uncertain whether your prescription drug contains an MAOI, consult a health professional before taking this product.
